No it’s not a singles event. Our Cannery Row store will be staying open late one night a month to make it easier on our members who are not able to make it in before our normal closing time of 6:00pm. So mark your calendars for May 8th, and/or stop by the Cannery Row store this Friday, if you have not already picked up your wines.

A Taste of Monterey’s September AVA event concentrates on the Carmel Valley Appellation. Dominated by red Bordeaux varietals -- such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot -- the appellation is distinctly warmer than the northern end of the Salinas Valley. Although it is classified as a cool region, its vineyards are generally situated at elevations above 1,000 feet, and are less influenced by the coastal fog and wind which affects the northern end of the Salinas Valley. Please come and experience different wines from this extraordinary appellation.

A Spooky Peoples’ Choice Syrah Challenge
Haunted Salinas Cellar

Help us pick Monterey County’s favorite Syrah. The Peoples' Choice Challenge will be held at A Taste of Monterey in haunted Oldtown Salinas. This is a costume tasting. Prizes will be awarded to most creative attire. You must me in a costume or you will be ridiculed and charged double. This event is sure to fill up quick, so book early.
Fifteen local Syrah wines will be blind tasted, and the winners will be unveiled that night. Help us determine what the people like. You're the judge. There will also be a drawing for assorted six packs of Syrahs. Do not miss what will be an event to remember. Club members $25 and all others $30.
