RecipeWhen cooking for friends and family for a dinner party, I enjoy this easy dish very much.  It tastes awesome, it takes under ten minutes to make, it goes great with most wine and your guests will be impressed.  So at your next dinner party, rather than serving boring cheese and crackers, try this delicious appetizer. Enjoy!

Day(or two)-old sourdough baguette
1 garlic clove, peeled
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/2 pound aged Asiago, thinly sliced (Parmesan will work too)
1/2 cup Olive Tapenade, store bought
1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves (fresh is important)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.  Slice the baguette into 1/3-inch rounds. Lightly toast in the oven.  Cool a little and rub with the garlic clove.  Brush or drizzle with olive oil.  Lightly toast again until oil sizzles.  Spread cheese on crostini and heat in oven until cheese bubbles. Remove from oven. Spread with tapenade and sprinkle with a few thyme leaves.
Serve immediately
